CCTV footage reveals welding sparks ignite Rajkot fire, Inflammable Materials found stored

Synopsis : The video, circulated on social media, shows that the blaze TRP game Zone was initially due to the sparks of welding which led to killing of at least 28 lives, including seven minors, and several were injured. Three people have been arrested in the incident.

On May 25th, Saturday, in Rajkot, in a heart breaking incident, the entire TRP game zone was burnt, which killed 28 people and their bodies burnt beyond recognition, and therefore, DNA samples of the victims as well as their relatives were collected for identification. Joshi said, “Piles of foam sheets, plastic mattresses, and thermocol were stored along with other materials used in such types of temporary structures”. In the video, it appeared that some flame from the welding work fell on the materials that led to the fire.

Sparks from welding might be cause of a massive fire

CCTV footage of the gaming zone depicted that sparks from welding might be the possible cause of a massive fire at a gaming site. The incident happened late Saturday afternoon, due to which at least 28 lives, including seven minors, and several others were injured. 

The video is being widely circulated on Social Media showing the blaze initially ignited while welding. In only a matter of few minutes, many of them were seen coming out from a corner before it flared up and turned into a massive blaze.

Case of culpable homicide has been filed

Three people including owner Yuvrajsinh Solanki and Manager Nitin Jatin, at the TRP game zone, have been arrested in the incident. Rajkot police have filed a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against six people under IPC sections 304, 308, 337, 338, and 114. Four people on the FIR are in the search, and the crime branch has formed four different teams to arrest the accused.

Indian Express reported that the Gaming zone, set up a shed, which was under operation for three years with no permission or clearance. Deputy Chief Fire Officer Bhikhabhai Theba was one of the first rescuers who reached the spot and stated that the fire was so swift and severe that the victims could not escape.
