The world’s first democracy, the United States, praises the Indian democratic elections. On Wednesday, US State Department Spokesperson Mathew Miller interacted with the media and said that the US government is celebrating the “largest exercise of democracy in the history of the world”, also calling it an extraordinary achievement.
While addressing a press conference, Miller said that the US has no side on the outcome of India’s election, while it was the people of India who decided on the matter.

Largest exercise of Democracy – US
Media persons questioned him over the claims that many groups and people in the US want to break democracy in India, also sending money to India to defeat PM Narendra Modi in elections. Miller, hesitant, said that he won’t comment on such a specific report not being sure about, what has been referred to.
But when it comes to Indian elections, he clarifies that the US government has been celebrating the exercise of democracy in the history of the world. Further calling it an “Extraordinary Achievement”. He also added, that when it comes to the result of the elections they take no sides, it is the question for the people of India to decide.
Clear majority to NDA
Prime Minister Narendra Modi won his third term with other parties in coalition with Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) and Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP. Recently, the elections were held for 543 Lok Sabha seats in seven phases starting April 19 while the results were announced on June 4. BJP won 240 seats, while Congress secured a strong growth with 100 seats. On the other hand, the INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, giving tough competition to the NDA-led government, and crossing all the predictions.

Biden congratulated Modi
The next day after the election results, US President Joe Biden congratulated Narendra Modi on his win. He also highlighted the friendly India-US relation growth as they aim to unlock a future of unlimited potential. Leaders of both democratic nations held a telephone call where Modi appreciated the words of Biden and said, “deeply values his warm words of felicitations and appreciation for Indian democracy.”
Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance on their victory, and the nearly 650 million voters in this historic election.
