Taapsee Pannu revealed that Preity Zinta has a connection with her entry into Bollywood. The Dunki actress, who appeared as a guest on the chat show Dhawan Karenge with Shikhar Dhawan this week, shared how, in her initial days in the Hindi film industry, she was brought up as having a resemblance to Preity and had to live up to that expectation.

Got film offers when studying engineering
In the chat show during the conversation, Taapsee shared about how she got film offers in Telugu and Tamil while she was pursuing her engineering. After a few years, she started getting offers in Bollywood as well. Pannu stated that many of them thought she was Preity Zinta’s new version. That is the reason she got offers in Bollywood. She has a very positive energy, and the audience knows it better than she does because of the interaction she has with her fans. Taapsee has only seen her on TV or the big screen.

Taapse added that she thinks the category of Preity Zinta is that of someone who can be lively and have brains. She felt like, she had to live up to the reputation for which they brought her to the industry because of her name. So, she has always put in effort to be like her.
Debut movie of Taapsee
Taapsee made her film debut with the 2010 Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam and her Hindi film debut with Chashme Baddoor. She was noticed by the Bollywood audience in 2015 when she played a supporting role as an undercover agent in the Akshay Kumar film Baby. She gained prominent roles in movies like Pink, Manmarziyan, Judwaa 2, Saand Ki Aankh, Mission Mangal, and Thappad. Taapsee was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Taapsee married her longtime boyfriend and badminton player, Mathias Boe, in Udaipur in March. It was a private wedding and the actor had remained silent about the details of her marriage.
