Rohit Sharma reveals the reason behind eating grass after historic win of T-20 World Cup

On Saturday, June 29th, the world saw India becoming champion in the T-20 World Cup. After a wait of 17 years, India finally brought back the cup home after defeating South Africa by 7 runs. The tournament was held in Barbados, Kensington Oval. The celebration of India’s thrilling victory was a sight to behold. At the same time, a video surfaced on social media, where Indian team Captain Rohit Sharma was emotional and seen eating a piece of grass from the pitch.

Rohit Sharma’s heart-winning act 

Revealing the reason, Rohit said that it was nothing that he preplanned but came naturally to him. He added that the pitch helped India to win the T20 World Cup. He said he would recollect the Barbados ground memories for the rest of his life. The 37-year-old shared the reason for eating grass from the pitch and alluded that it was a dream come true moment for him.

Moment to cherish for life

Rohit also revealed that all the team members celebrated the victory together and didn’t care about his sleep routine. They partied till the early morning. He said he didn’t sleep properly but that is fine for him as there is a lot of time to go back and sleep. “I want to live this moment, each minute, each second, that is passing by and I will try to make the most of it”.

The Indian team is currently stuck in the island nation of Carribean due to Hurricane Beryl. They are expected to be back in the country via a chartered plane organized for the team by Wednesday, as reported by BCCI.
