Ride-hailing platform Rapido has recently announced a commendable initiative to facilitate the voting process for senior citizens and differently-abled individuals in Karnataka for the Lokasabha elections in 2024. To promote civic engagement and ensure accessibility to polling booths, Rapido will provide free auto and cab rides to and from voting centres in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Mangaluru.

Collaboration with Election Commission and BBMP
This innovative project of Rapido works under the joint venture of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Bruhat Bengaluru Municipal Corporation (BBMP). To execute this ambitious plan, Rapido is set to deploy more than 10 lakh captains across a hundred cities. These Captains will be strategically deployed to offer complimentary rides to eligible voters, ensuring that no one is left behind due to logistical constraints.
Booking Process and Code
Those interested in opting for same-day voting on demand need only provide the code ‘Vote Now’ when scheduling their ride through the Rapido dispatcher. Thanks to the streamlined process included in the voter guide, it will be easy to access the polling station if they are elderly or disabled.
