A lift at the Hindustan Copper Limited-owned Kolihan mine in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district collapsed, trapping fourteen workers on Tuesday. Rescuers managed to save all the workers after commencing the operation on Tuesday night. The rescue operation was divided into two phases, saving six initially, followed by the remaining eight workers. Unfortunately, three workers were seriously injured.

Incident Details
The incident occurred on Tuesday night. During the inspection by the vigilance team of Kolkata, the rope supporting the lift broke, causing the collapse and plunging more than 1,800 feet inside the pit.
Among those imprisoned were important officials like Upendra Pandey, the Chief Vigilance Officer. Along with the vigilance crew, a journalist named Vikas Pareek and several other officials are among the people trapped in the mine. When the lift collapsed, ambulances were dispatched to the scene, and medical personnel were notified to be prepared for potential problems.

Earlier, BJP MLA Dharmpal Gurjar stated that he had gone to Haryana for the election campaign, but when he received this information, he instantly returned to Rajasthan. He phoned everyone and assessed the entire issue. Chief Minister of Rajasthan Bhajanlal Sharma also instructed the authorities to carry out the rescue operations as early as possible and assured healthcare facilities to the workers.
