Post Malone unleashed his own kind of patriotism at Sunday’s Super Bowl with a moving performance of “America the Beautiful.” In a brown jacket, white shirt, bolo tie, and pants, the rapper and singer fingerpicked an acoustic guitar for a genuine performance of the song. His voice had a lot of reverb, and there was plenty of equipment backing it up, including pedal steel. Malone demonstrated a vocal strength that many casual fans may not have seen before. Taylor Swift and Blake Lively were caught on video slow dancing to the song, which received a positive response from the audience.
Post Malone Nervously Prepares for Super Bowl Performance Amid Las Vegas Luck and Engagement Revelations
In an interview with Apple Music earlier this week, Malone claimed the idea of performing was “nerve-racking.” He then stated, “I’m very nervous,” while seated next to fellow pregame singers Reba McEntire and Andra Day.
“But excited, I’m excited. It’s just fun and super epic to be able to go out there and sing a song so many beautiful artists have sang before on this stage,” he stated.
In addition to Malone’s rendition of “America the Beautiful,” Reba McEntire sang the national anthem and Andra Day performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing” during Super Bowl LVIII. Usher has been scheduled to lead the halftime act.
This year’s Super Bowl will be held in Las Vegas for the first time, and it has previously brought luck to the “Better Now” musician. During an interview with the Call Her Daddy podcast in August 2023, Malone stated that Sin City is where he and his fiancée, whom he has not publicly identified, got engaged.

“I had lost a significant amount of money at the table. We go upstairs and I’m off my rocker hammered and I was like, ‘Hey, you wanna marry me?’ I got a ring and all this stuff. And she said, ‘No.’ She’s like, ‘Ask me tomorrow’ and I was like, ‘Alright.’ And then I did and I was sober and it was nice,” he told host Alex Cooper.
Malone confirmed his wedding plans during an interview on Sirius XM’s The Howard Stern Show in June 2022. He also announced on the radio broadcast that the couple had had their first kid. According to PEOPLE, the Grammy-nominated performer and his fiancée will welcome their daughter in May 2022.
