The Amazon Prime web series “Panchayat” starring Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghuvir Yadav, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, Ashok Pathak, and Sunita Rajwar, indeed kept the audience hooked till the series came up with a third season of its storyline. Written by Chandan Kumar and put together by director Deepak Kumar Mishra, the internet has flooded with netizens expressing excitement and jotting down their opinions after watching it.

What is the shift in season 3?
The series Panchayat 3 heralds a major shift in its tone, catapulting viewers into a whirlwind of laughter, tears, and suspense. It makes you cry, laugh, feel numb, nostalgic, and part of their simple yet adventurous life. In keeping with the political fervour surrounding the current Lok Sabha elections, the show explores rural politics and grassroots corruption while adhering to a straightforward narrative style.
What after the second season?
The secretary was transferred after the events of the second season, and it is evident that he is getting ready for the MBA exam and considering quitting. Because the people of Phulera were unwilling to accept a new secretary and because other things did not go in the MLA’s favour, Abhishek, the secretary, was reappointed.
This season of Panchayat focuses on Bhushan’s political manoeuvring with the MLA’s assistance and how others in positions of authority react to it. The themes of coping with loss, community support for one another, and the value of togetherness are further covered. Regarding the turns and twists, the audience is not let down by the show.

Humorous or Pensive?
Not like that this series’ world building doesn’t shake hands with a humorous tone this time, the script decides to be a light-hearted humorous grammar that makes it this relaxed watch with compelling characters and story elements. The story has a mature and pensive vibe to it because of what transpired at the conclusion of the previous season and some of the characters growing in maturity.
Instances: Prahlad has stopped visiting his home after his son’s death and has turned into a drinker. His sorrow is evident in the way the screenplay is written, and it is in fact in the fifth episode of season three that we all get to appreciate the Panchayat’s pace.
Background Music
Shedding light on the music part, the series witnessed evocative music by the maestro Anurag Saikia. The background score is a masterstroke, a sync with the peaks and valleys of the storyline. For instance, be it the mesmerising whistle tune when Sachiv ji and Rinki sit together in silence, presenting innocence and burgeoning affection between the two.
Another instance is when Mom helps Prahlad clean his house. The background music in this scene is a tender, melancholic composition that perfectly describes the raw, emotional weight of the scene.
“Everyone’s a HERO”
The filmmaker has taken a novel approach to storytelling by having the lead actors play supporting roles while the supporting cast moves forward as the tale progresses. The tale has undoubtedly benefited from this method. Everybody is made into a hero by the filmmaker, in their own unique fashion.
The character journey of actor Durgesh Kumar as Bhushan Sharma is intriguing. This time, he poses a danger to the main characters’ status and turns into one of the best performances of the whole season. Compared to the past seasons, his actual talent has been well-utilised.
“No Role is Small”
The phrase “no role is small” aptly applies to Season 3 of Panchayat. Small-part actors, such as Sunita Rajwar as Kranti Devi, Pankaj Jha as MLA Chandrakishore Singh, Ashok Pathak as Vinod, and Bulloo Kumar as Madhav, also have an opportunity to perform and shine. The introduction of a new character, Bam Bahadur, strengthens the narrative.
Nevertheless, despite its occasional sluggishness, the third season was still full of excitement, passion, and entertainment value.
Main Cast and them complementing each other
Regarding the main cast, everyone is as trustworthy as ever. They are all charming to watch on film, whether it’s Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, Raghubir Yadav as Brij Bhushan Dubey, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi, Chandan Roy as Vikas, or Sandvika as Rinki. Nevertheless,it is somewhat underutilised, given that this season’s portrayal of their characters’ journey was done in that manner.
Instances: If Jitendra creates a serene atmosphere, Sanvikaa gives the narrative a naive romantic bent, while Chandan amps up the fun factor. Neena’s character is also hinted to be taking command of her role as the village pradhan and defying her husband in politics. The plot, which would have been entertaining to see, does not go into great length about it. It is to be hoped that the author will explore this area more in the future.

With its stunning cinematography, Panchayat 3 is a visual marvel that perfectly conveys the natural beauty of rural India. From the vivid colour of the local market to the tranquil settings that act as the story’s backdrop, the level of attention to detail is astonishing. The soundtrack, which is the ideal fusion of old and modern, enhances the watching experience by adding depth and resonance to each scene.
After the shocking outcome of the series of events in the Panchayat elections, Abhishek is contemplating his future.The camera movement perfectly compliments this scene by showing a large area of yellow mustard fields, blooming in the soft breeze. The warm shine added by the sunlight bolds the tranquillity of the rural environment.
A flute composition simultaneous to the scene which perfectly offers us with a sense of emotional questions that were taking rounds in his mind about his position in Phulera. Without a single word spoken, this sequence successfully conveys Abhishek’s emotional condition through both images and music.
Offering exactly what the audience wants
One of the best parts of making the series is that the makers knew what the audience wanted and didn’t ignore that. Everyone was interested in learning how the cheerful Prahlad (played by Faisal Malik) was handling the loss of his kid.
To everyone’s satisfaction, the creators took notice of it. They focused on the character’s story and gave the character justice. He really has the most intriguing storyline; it starts with how he drowns himself in drink after giving up on life and then finds joy in the small things around him. It’s nice to have a peek of Prahlad from earlier seasons through Faisal’s natural acting ability.
Impressive stakes for upcoming seasons
The aspect of Panchayat 3 that doesn’t work is how tacked on it seems. In fact, it may seem haphazard to some observers. This could be the result of the author’s attempt to address a variety of deeply rooted concerns and emotional turmoil in rural India all at once.
Nevertheless, despite its occasional sluggishness, the third season was still full of excitement, passion, and entertainment value.
