What are the views of Modi on the slogan “400 Paar”

Modi said “400 Paar” is not a slogan coined by the BJP but by the people. He said they were already 400 in strength in the Parliament over the last five years, given the support that they got from other parties. Any child who gets 95 percent marks will naturally strive for a higher target, Modi added.

Modi’s Take on Congress and Other Opposition Parties?

PM Modi hit out at Congress and other opposition parties for complaining that they have not given a level playing field in this election. He reminded everyone how the then Chief Election Commissioner (TN Seshan) postponed polling across the country in 1991 for 22 days after Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991, when only one round of polling was over. Elections were postponed till mid-June and voting took place from June 12 to 15.  Was that level playing field !!

Rajat Sharma also asked why two serving chief ministers were jailed during the election process. To which PM Modi answered, that they did not send them to jail, the court sent the two chief ministers to jail. Regarding the AAP and Delhi liquor case PM Modi said, “They wanted to spoil the lives of children by opening liquor outlets near schools, offered one liquor bottle free for every bottle sold because they were getting the commission on several bottles sold”. He further mentioned that his winning the 2014 elections was only because of the measures he took to make India Corruption-free and not because of publicity stunts using editorials or TV Headlines.

Did Modi dismiss the allegations by Pakistan?

Pakistan had alleged that it was India’s hand behind “targeted assassinations by unknown killers” of terrorists in that country. PM Modi replied, that this allegation was not the issue. He cited the example of how the leader of a respected party, that ruled our country for 60 years, faced 26/11 Mumbai attacks and was blamed for the same.

Mani Shankar Aiyar remarked that India should respect Pakistan because it has an atomic bomb. To which PM Modi, in a light-hearted manner replied, that he had visited Pakistan himself to check the power. He added that his arrival in Lahore was their debate on the TV channels, which he felt was not needed. He said, “of course, I can visit Pakistan, why can’t I go? It was part of our country at one time”.
