Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his official nomination for the Lok Sabha election from Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi on Tuesday morning. Before filing his nomination, the BJP leader performed religious rituals, by offering his prayers at the iconic Dashashwamedh Ghat taking a symbolic dip in the holy waters of the River Ganga, and visiting the Kaal Bhairav Temple.

The Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath accompanied PM Modi as he officially filed his Nomination from Varanasi. Before Visiting the temple Modi said “My relationship with my Kashi is amazing, inseparable, and incomparable… it cannot be expressed in words!”

“I am overwhelmed and emotional ! I didn’t even realise how 10 years passed under the shade of your affection. Aaj Maa Ganga ne mujhe god le liya hain.
On Monday evening after the roadshow, the Prime Minister said, “The love and blessings my family members of Kashi showed during the road show became an unforgettable moment in my life”.
The streets of Varanasi were elevated and electrified as everyone chanted “Jai Shree Ram” and “Har Har Mahadev”.

Varanasi will vote in the final phase of the election on June 1. Varanasi holds a special place for PM Modi as he had secured victory twice in this same place. Once in 2014 and then in 2019, in 2019 he gained substantial votes gaining over 6,74,664 votes which is about 63.6 percent.
