Based on reports, President Joe Biden is apprehensive that Donald Trump might create a power struggle. He made these remarks in an interview recently, stating that Trump was quite explicit about his lack of confidence in the peaceful transition of power. He mentioned his fears, citing Trump’s previous rhetoric, which included threats of a “bloodbath” if he lost the elections.
These comments follow shortly after Biden announced that he would step down from running for president to let Vice President Kamala Harris be the Democratic Party candidate. All Democrats are now going to support Harris, who faces stiff opposition, including a fierce fight with Trump and possible legal consequences from previous claims regarding election fraud.
Trump’s Comments
“If I win, we will apply the highest tariff charges to every car as they pass through this line, such that you can’t even sell them. And if I don’t win, it’s going to be a bloodbath for everybody, and it’ll not just be bloodshed. It will be a bloodshed for the nation. That is the least.” Said Trump.
Joe Biden’s concerns
Biden has also suggested several concerns regarding comments from Trump. The President previously mentioned Trumpists storming the US Congress building on January 6th. For the past four years, Trump maintained that there was rampant rigging in the 2020 poll, which resulted in the stealing of votes. Further, he promised that he would release any detained person related to disturbance cases at the Capitol Building on two different occasions when he returned home.
The political situation is still tight as Trump stressed that accepting it only if it is “fair and legal.” Contrarywise, the Democratic Party has decided to back all their artillery behind Harris, considering her nomination as an exceptional opportunity for addressing voters’ concerns while showcasing what the administration has accomplished so far.
