For the calendar year 2024, the round named Hyderabad was excluded. In the case of Formula E, it is quite apparent that the act of not adhering to the tenets of the multi-year agreement was a clear violation of the contract. It was out of focus for the new government, which came into power in the state in December last year. In the case of Formula E, there was a blatant violation of the multi-year agreement.

Formula E’s Deputy President, Andy Blasts, said that the three Indian cities are in discussion with the organization to revive the competition in 2026, as he spoke to PTI on Friday. If the series is not put to rest, the focus shifts to seeing that the race is resurrected for the upcoming new season of the series, which is to commence in December 2025.

The official’s comments on the matter

“Unfortunately, due to the change of Government in Telangana, we were compelled to shut down our operation in Hyderabad, though this was a wonderful race.” “India remains a Tier I market for us; each day, we strive to return there.” Formula E co-founder Alberto Longo said the other day to PTI during the season-ending London E-Prix.

According to Longo, Jeff Dodds, Formula E’s Chief Executive Officer, concurred with his view on the Indian market. “We were gutted (when Hyderabad was dropped). India is a massive market for us. We have Indian teams in Mahindra and Jaguar and an Indian driver, Jehan Daruvala, though he’s not in F2 currently.”

Longo added that the most challenging aspect was to stage the first event in Hyderabad, after which every event turned out to be relatively easier. ”But we wish to go back to Hyderabad, but due to some political issues, they did not allow us to go back there.”

The proposed entity has its fair share of challenges ahead of it. The Indian media market is constantly changing, and the new entity will have to adapt accordingly. Besides that, it also faces stringent competition from other media giants like Netflix and Sony, which recently cancelled its own ambitious merger with Zee.
