According to recent updates, Delhi Women’s Commission Chief Swati Maliwal has accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Secretary Bibhav Kumar of slapping her multiple times in the Chief Minister’s Office. The First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Bibhav Kumar based on the Rajya Sabha MP’s statement on Thursday. The Delhi police said that Maliwal stated in her FIR that he hit her on the stomach, slapped her, and kicked her.

The Delhi police has registered FIR against him, after recording Swati Maliwal’s statement at her residence. The FIR has been registered under Indian Penal Code sections: 354 (Assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (Word gesture or act of intent to insult), 323 (Assault) and other sections.
Who is Swati Maliwal?
Swati Maliwal is a social activist and politician, she is currently serving as a member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha representing Delhi. In July 2015, she was appointed as the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women. Swati Maliwal was regarded as one of the youngest to lead the Women’s Commission. After completing her education she worked for a Non-governmental organization (NGO), named “Parvivartan” which was founded by Arvind Kejriwal.
Shocking revelation
According to her statement, Swati was sitting in Kejriwal’s drawing room when Bibhav Kumar entered in and assaulted her. It also states that when this incident happened Arvind Kejriwal was also present during the action of time.
After giving her statement to the police, Swati made a tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, expressing that what happened to her was not right, and it was inappropriate to assault women and the police would be taking action against him. She also asked the BJP not to drag politics into her matter.
“Those who tried to indulge in character assassination said that I was doing it at the behest of the other party, God bless them too”.
The assault took place on Monday. The Delhi Police said that Swati Maliwal came to the Civil Lines police station, accused Kumar of assaulting her, and left the station without registering the formal complaint.

AAP leader confirmed incident
AAP leader Sanjay Singh later confirmed that the incident took place in Kejriwal’s drawing room. He added that Kejriwal had taken note of the incident and would be taking action against it. However, Kejriwal, when asked about Maliwal during a joint press conference in Lucknow, chose to avoid it.
Meanwhile, ANI reported that the Delhi Police cell and special brand teams have been deployed to arrest Arvind Kejriwal’s aide.

Swati Maliwal reached Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court around noon on Friday to record her statement on the assault by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s PA Bibhav Kumar.
“What happened to me was very bad. I have given my statement to the police on the incident that happened to me. I hope that appropriate action will be taken. The last few days have been very difficult for me. I thank those who prayed for me. Those who tried to do character assassination, may God keep them happy too,” Maliwal had tweeted.
On Monday, DCP (North) Manoj Kumar Meena said that a PCR call was received at 9:34 a.m. at the Civil Lines police station, wherein the caller claimed that she was assaulted at CM Kejriwal’s official residence.
