On Tuesday 27th February 2024, JSW Energy announced that its subsidiary company JSW Neo Energy Limited has successfully secured a 700 Megawatt (MW) solar project from the Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) SJVN Limited. This Project win comes as a result of a tariff-based competitive bid invited for the establishment of 1500 MW Interstate Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar power projects.

JSW Energy has secured a 700 MW capacity contract from SJVN Ltd, bringing its total secured capacity to 11.0 GW, which includes 1.4 GW of solar power. JSW Energy plans to provide power at the full contracted capacity within 2 years from the agreement’s start date.
JSW Energy boasts a total generation capacity of 11.0 GW
Currently, JSW Energy boasts a total closed generation capacity of 11.0 GW, of which 7.2 GW is in operation and 2.6 GW is in operation in the wind-heating, hydro projects, along with Letter of Awards (LoAs) for an additional 1.2 GW of capacity from SECI (Slice – XVI). and SJVN.
Moreover, the company thought it wise to put its money into energy storage systems and thus has 3.4 GWh of energy storage capacity locked in through two means: battery storage systems and pumped hydroelectricity stations.
Capacity to Increase to 9.8 GW by the end of calendar year 2024
Looking ahead, JSW Energy aims to significantly ramp up its operational generation capacity to 9.8 GW by the end of calendar year 2024, representing a notable increase from its current operational capacity of 7.2 GW.
